The Department of Psychology at Korea University, in collaboration with the Big Data Innovation Convergence University Project Group at Seoul National University and the Institute for Learning Sciences at Seoul National University, held an AI science symposium on February 12, 2026, at the International Conference Hall of the Korea Press Center under the theme “Artificial Intelligence: Beyond Engineering to Scientific Understanding.”
Professor Choi Joon-Sik of the Department of Psychology at Korea University delivered a presentation titled “Seven Failures of AI Chatbots: The Cost of Adaptation.” In his talk, he examined the strengths and limitations of AI chatbots from a psychological perspective, discussing their blind spots as well as the potential for developing safe and trustworthy artificial intelligence.
The symposium also featured presentations by undergraduate and graduate students on next-generation AI research. Topics included the psychology of artificial intelligence, the science of artificial brains, and the intersection of AI and learning, followed by a comprehensive panel discussion.
