The PSNL Lab investigates psychopathology and psychotherapy using state-of-the-art research methodologies, with the goal of uncovering the mechanisms underlying mental health problems and developing effective treatment approaches.
Non-Suicidal Self-Injury
The lab identifies risk and protective factors associated with self-injurious behaviors that occur without suicidal intent, and, based on these findings, proposes evidence-based psychosocial intervention programs.
Psychopathology
Using surveys, behavioral experiments, and structural and functional brain imaging methods (sMRI, fMRI), the lab takes an integrative approach to examining the etiology and mechanisms of mental disorders.
Social Neurocognition
The lab explores social-cognitive and emotional processing in relation to genetic, environmental, and clinical factors, and studies therapeutic approaches to optimizeaimed at optimizing these functions.
