Professor Sung Yong-Jun Named 31st President of Korean Society for Advertising

 Professor Sung Yong-Jun of Korea University’s Department of Psychology will become the 31st president of the Korean Society for Advertising on April 4, serving a one-year term.He holds a Ph.D. in Advertising from the University of Georgia and previously taught at the University of Texas at Austin. He has also served as president of the Korean Society for Consumer Advertising Psychology and editor-in-chief of Journal of Advertising Research.His research was recognized in the “Top 2% of Scientists Worldwide” list in 2024 and 2025. The inauguration will be held at Korea University’s Hyundai Motor Business Center during the society’s Spring Annual Conference.Founded in 1989, the Korean Society for Advertising has about 1,200 members and publishes the KCI-indexed Journal of Advertising Research, promoting both academic research and industry development.

Korea University Alumnus Kim Jeong-Won Honored in 2025 Phase 4 BK21 Program

Kim Jeong-Won, a Korea University psychology graduate and assistant professor at Hanyang University ERICA, received the National Research Foundation of Korea President’s Award for outstanding participation in the 2025 Phase 4 Brain Korea 21 (BK21) program.Kim was recognized for his research achievements with Korea University’s Psychological Science Education Research Group for Reducing Social Inequalities and Promoting Sustainability.The award ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Education and NRF on February 25 in Seoul, honored 101 recipients for excellence in education and research. The Phase 4 BK21 program (2020–2027) supports graduate students and early-career researchers through scholarships and research funding.Kim’s work reflects the program’s goals of advancing psychological research, developing future talent, and addressing social inequality and sustainability.
